Paul N. Abeyta, M.D.
Dr. Abeyta's specialty interests lie in Sports Medicine, focusing on articular cartilage injury, as well as tendon and ligament injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. During his training he worked with professional athletes on the ATP Tour and with the San Francisco 49ers. He performed athletic examinations at the NFL Combines and has also worked with local collegiate teams at Stanford University, Santa Clara University, and Foothill College. He is the co-Founder and co-Director of a High School Sports Program providing education and sports medicine care for Bay Area high school student-athletes. He serves as the team physician for many of the local high school programs along the San Francisco peninsula. Dr. Abeyta is trained in the most cutting edge arthroscopic surgical techniques and works closely with highly skilled Physical Therapists and Certified Personal Trainers. He is committed to careful diagnostic evaluation and compassionate care with the goal of returning patients of all ages and skill levels to their pre-injury level of performance. Dr. Abeyta holds memberships with Health Volunteers Overseas/Orthopedics Overseas, IGOT (Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology), the San Mateo County Medical Association, the California Orthopaedic Association, and he is a Candidate Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Abeyta is on staff at California Pacific Medical Center (San Francisco), Seton Medical Center (Daly City), and Mills-Peninsula Medical Center (San Mateo/Burlingame).
